Price is key for Used Cars

What makes a great second hand car? The biggest draw factor seems to be price over percentage saving. Good examples are if you take a 2008 Mercedes E class compared to a 2007 VW Chico, Citi golf. Buyers actively looking for used cars for sale are generally wanting to save as much as possible on  the original price.

Production of the VW Chico was stopped  as the car no longer qualified for modern safety standards. In Europe and the States the Chico has been out of production since the mid 90’s. However buyers in developing countries have a set limit they can spent and this seems to be R100 000. So a 2008 Merc E class with under 70 000km on the clock selling for 65% of its price will still not attract and buyers compared to  the beloved Chico with over 90 000km and selling for 80% of its new price.
