It’s Not Easy Spending That Much Money

Monday, October 17th, 2011

I’ve taken everyone’s advice. I’ve researched, researched, and researched. This review (click here) and many others have shown me that the Yamaha P155 is the best digital piano I can buy for $1000. It’s practically a proven fact. However, that is still a lot of money.

Like many other pianists, I want a piano. I can’t afford an acoustic one so I am sticking to the digital kinds. The Yamaha P155 seems like my dream digital piano, but spending $1000 is still not easy. Despite all the positive reviews and despite how many people absolutely love the Yamaha P155, I just can’t seem to force myself to pay the money. It’s a lot, and I’m afraid of what could happen. What if I needed that $1000 for some sort of emergency? I don’t know.

I’ve done the research. I found the digital piano I want. I know it’s the right one, but it’s still not easy spending that much money.

Hip Hop Beat Maker to Help You Rap

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

The hip hope beat maker software will help you master the form of rapping. I was asked to rap for a charity talent show with my friends but I really thought that I would not be able to do it. I wanted to do something big for charity but I thought I would just make a fool of myself. However my friends chipped together the hip hop beat maker software to try and encourage me to do it. I thought, why not? Let’s give it a try. In the end I turned out to be a pretty good rapper and I think that I have really mastered the art of hip hop. The software made me super confident and I was able to stand in front of a crowd and rap! I think I did pretty well considering I am a fifty five year old man! I might just have to make this my new profession. Check out this page for more detailed info.

Listen to My Tunes

Sunday, September 4th, 2011

I feel like an established musical artist now! Actually, I am just getting started with the Ableton tutorial. I feel like this is something that I can really get into. I asked my mom if she would love me if I became a musician instead of a lawyer and she told me that I can do whatever I want and she already loves me so I don’t have to worry about that. Well, that just got me going because I knew that my passion was music, and if it wasn’t going to disappoint mom, then that is doing that I can really invest my time in. I love the way that my life is working out. With the support of my mom and other family members, I will have the courage to see to it that this gets done. I know that I can honestly make this happen for myself and I want my mom to see the end results.

Bjork and Techno Music?

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

A lot of people might not think right away of Bjork when they hear the word “techno music”, but if you listen to some of her songs you’ll almost swear that what you were listening to were techno songs and not some songs by a pop celebrity. But now that I think about it, you really can’t class Bjork as pop or as any other kind of popular genre. She’s more the avant garde kind of musician, willing to explore and experiment. And I think that’s the credit due to her works like Homogenic. That she doesn’t just stay in one place, but really pushes the boundaries as it were when it comes to music production. I hope that even as I write this, she’s somewhere out there trying to make a new record with a lot of futuristic techno elements infused into her regular array of instruments. I hope that she’s not too old.

Downloadable Sound Effects for Programs

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

When you come to downloadable sound effects that are used for various radio and Television programs, you need to be very careful because these are also important because they influence who your program is going to bee received in the market and whether those who will be coming across your program will love it. If you are promoting a musical program and you want people who listen to this musical program to become buyers of your songs, you need to approach such online promotion with caution making sure that all that you are doing will lead people to becoming your fans either on radio or on TV. One of the best ways that you can do this is by making sure that you use the right downloadable sound effects that are almost similar to your music as this will make listeners associate these with the program that you are using to promote your music online. THIS is one of the very effective ways of promoting online programs.

Hardware Versus Software Synthesizers

Friday, July 1st, 2011

Recording mostly real audio instruments as opposed to MIDI, I didn’t really have much need for a USB or MIDI controller. Then when I upgraded to a more recent version of Pro Tools and found all the virtual instruments that came with it I now feel I have the best of both worlds: recording real instruments using MIDI technology.

Some purists will argue all day long if you let them, about how an actual hardware synth like a minimoog for example, sounds better than it’s software counterpart. It would be very difficult to tell them apart in a test playing them side by side let alone in a recording when they are mixed in with a full band of drums, bass, a couple guitars and some vocals.

All you need now is a good controller like the M-Audio Axiom and a good audio software recording program and you’ll never need to buy another “real” synthesizer or keyboard again for recording.

Freestyle Rap: 3 Important Factors in Rapping

Monday, February 21st, 2011

When you are practicing your rapping skills, you might want to focus on three important factors in your rap. They are delivery, word play and rhyme scheme. Delivery is how you sound when you rap. This includes the tone of your voice and how the words flow in your rap. In your delivery, you will need to speak clearly and sound out all the words completely. Don’t eat your words or it will sound garbled. No one in the crowd would understand this. Word play is your use of words. This will showcase your talent in composing words in your head when you freestyle rap. You can use humor, comparisons and analogy with your word play. The crowd will love comical and funny lines especially if you are trying to make fun of your competitor. Rhyming scheme refers to the rhymes you use in your rap. This is something that you will need to practice. Broadening your vocabulary will be a big help.

What Guitar Lessons Should You Take?

Friday, December 17th, 2010

There are many ways to learn guitar nowadays. It all starts with you and how you want to achieve playing guitar. I highly recommend starting out with chord structures. Learn all of the major chords A through G. Learn about barre chords. Learn about scales, more specifically pentatonic scales. Once you understand the shapes of these scales and how the notes or lined up on the fretboard you will have a deeper understanding on how to play lead guitar. But before getting lead down I highly recommend getting down rhythm guitar playing. This will teach you about getting your timing down. That is what it is all about first. Rhythm is for the most part about playing chords or riffs depending on what style of guitar most interests you. I find that the two most popular styles include classical finger style and hard rock. To learn more read this jamorama review and you will go far.

London Musicals Offer Shows for All Tastes

Monday, December 13th, 2010

Everybody has their own idea about what makes the perfect night out, but for me there is no choice whatsoever. Hopping on to a train to the capital and seeing one of the spectacular London musicals that are on offer is the finest way to spend an evening. It’s something my wife and I do every month or two, and we’ve seen some of the very best shows of all.

My favourite one of all has been Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, because it was a festival of colour and spectacle, with some magnificent songs throughout. I remember seeing the film when I was a young child, and didn’t think it would transfer to a theatre play very easily. I was wrong, however, because it was even better than the movie.

I have also liked several other offerings, including the classic Phantom of the Opera, which had some truly incredible songs to enjoy.

The First Guitar My Grandparents Gave Me

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

When I was only about 10 years old my grandparents bought me a cheap acoustic guitar for my birthday, and it was the first time I had actually ever held one in my hands before. I had seen people playing them on TV, and it was something I always wanted to learn how to do, but my parents really couldn’t afford to buy me a guitar at the time. So when my grandparents gave this guitar to me, it was easily the best gift I have ever received at the time. I never was a full to take lessons with a guitar, so I was pretty much self-taught and it took me quite some time to learn how to play it, but eventually with a lot of practice and diligence, I became quite a very good guitarist. My parents actually sold the guitar at a flea market many years ago, and now I kind of regret that I allowed them to do it, as I think this would’ve been a really cool thing to pass along to my young daughter.

Using Hand Tapping to Make Rap Beats

Saturday, October 16th, 2010

I like to make rap beats, I’m not going to lie, it’s been a hobby of mine for a long time. I’ve always been a fan though of programming everything on the screen, meticulously adding individual notes to the timeline to make sure that the timing sounds exactly as I want it to sound. This is fine and dandy if I approach this technique the right way, but often times things can start to sound very mechanical, and that is not exactly what I am going for some times. I like to have that element of humanization in my beats. For that reason I like to incorporate a hand operated pad bank or something like that, similar to what an MPC has to offer in terms of tapping on buttons to make beats. Luckily for me there are a lot of options available for stuff like this for computers, so I don’t really have a hard time finding the hardware I need to make these beats.

Learn How to Freestyle Rap

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

A lot of people are getting more and more into the hip hop community as they see the charts filled with hip hop artists making the big bucks and rapping about it too. But before you cut your own demo, you have to know that rapping is not easy, or natural, as people think it is. And that the industry is fed by MC battles more than prepared pieces. So if you want to learn how to freestyle rap, there are few key things. First, take it seriously. If you think that rapping is easy, especially in the freestyle realm, then you have a whole other thing coming. Freestyle rapping is not all about spontaneous rhymes. Even the best rappers can not consistently call upon superb rhymes in freestyle. You will need a template where in you will just fill out the necessary patterns that you use, and really crank it.

Ibanez Rg Guitars Versus Custom Guitars

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

The more you read reviews on Ibanez rg electric guitars the more you can save for certain that many folks do NOT understand a very important distinction between these guitars and custom made guitars. I’ll attempt to clear the air here…

RG series guitars are mass produced. That is, luthiers have a certain specification and they make sure they build their guitar to deal to that specification. Would it suit everyone? I bet it wouldn’t. It doesn’t matter if such member of the RG family costs $300 or $3K. But a custom made guitar is built to the specific taste of a particular guitarist: You the customer.

All your fantasies and preferencies are capture. There’s NO way you won’t be happy with a custom guitar provided you do it in the right place. But then don’t forget that these guitars do cost a lot. If you place them side by side and feature by feature they simply can’t compare with mass produced guitars that are within the same price range. In fact, there are price ranges that can’t give you a custom guitar.

Ibanez Rg Electric Guitar And Your Pickup

Friday, July 16th, 2010

There are many things that affect the sound you get from your guitar and this also affects every guitar that make up Ibanez RG series. We can talk about the effect of tonewoods when used for the neck or sides or sound board. But then for the purpose of this discourse, we want to look at the effect of pickups…

If there’s one thing that does have a very profound effect on your electric guitar, then it’s your pickup and how they are set up. If you doubt it, go change the stock pickup for you low end RG electric guitar to the pickup you find in the top of the range. Try it and you’ll hear a huge difference.

Does you guitar produce a lot of hum? The pickups too might be the problem. There are single coil pickups and there are humbuckers. Which is used on your guitar and where each is used will affect the sound your guitar produces. And lest I fail to mention: The number of pickups a guitar comes with also determines the tonal options you have.
