Are Hotel Spas Too Expensive?

I don’t know about you, but I think the prices of hotel spas these days are downright ridiculous. I used to regularly visit spas in the hotels, as they were generally better quality and more luxurious than the standalone day spas downtown. The price of a hotel spa in Vancouver used to be around $60 for a massage, which included a complimentary glass of green tea.

The price of the spas in the Vancouver Hotels nowadays seems to be more around the $100 mark. I was at one on Wednesday night with Winnie and thought I’d treat her to a pamper session as her poodle, skippy, had died the night before. Not only had the price for a standard neck massage doubled, but the hotel receptionist at the spa downright refused to offer us a cup of green tea – I had to pay $3 for a glass of tap water! That says it all doesn’t it. I won’t tell you which hotel it was though.
